Wonder Woman Review SPOILERS
Going into seeing Wonder Woman I wasn’t expecting much. I
didn’t want to get my hopes up and be devastated with it like I had with many
of DC’s other movies. But I was happily surprised with the movie.
It was a great origin story with an adorable baby Diana that
led all the way into adorable adult Diana. The movie gave a great origin story
that was much overdue.
Wonder Woman has come a long way from the sexist world she
was created in. Though there has been many comics and she played big part in
the animated series, she has never seen the big screen.
Now that she has it was
worth the wait to have it done the right way.
You see Diana thrust herself into the world of man and learn
that everything isn’t as she been told by her mother. She learns also from her
love interest, Steve Trevor that man might not be perfect, but they do deserve
to be saved.
The action scenes were great. Clad with her armor of bullet
deflecting bracelets of submission, breast plate and knee high boots. She also
has lasso of truth, shield and sword called the God Killer. Diana is armor in
herself also as it turns out she’s a God.
Born of Zeus and the Amazon queen, Hippolyta, Diana is more
powerful than even she knows. In the end Diana defeats her brother and enemy,
Ares, the god of war, with help from them team Steve Trevor put together. The
movie explains the picture that we saw in the Batman vs Superman that was seen.
But there were a few holes in the story, as it connected
with the other stories in the DC universe.
The first being, if
Zeus made the island to protect against a God how was a mere man able to get.
Not only just Steve Trevor, but a whole fleet of German soldiers.
Now this could be an explanation of maybe Zeus didn’t make
it keep out man, just Gods because he knew that the Amazon’s could defeat them.
But some of the Amazon fell due to these men, including the warrior Antiope.
The other being if Wonder Woman was this powerful, to where
she could kill a God, why did she not kill Doomsday. Diana is a god herself she
should have easily been able to kill Doomsday especially after years of
practicing her powers in the world of man.
So it has some hole in the story, but overall it was a good
movie. I am excited to see Justice League now (and a little bit nervous), but
DC’s finally made good movie.
