E-Books vs Books

In this day and age, hard back copies are losing their fire in everything from movies to money to storage. The simpler times of books and even cassette tapes (I’m that young I still remember cassette and VHS tapes) are gone and the time for iPhones and e-books are here.
Now some people will always be stuck in their ways and say that they can’t look at a screen that long or they like the smell of books.
I, myself, acquired a kindle, against my will, long ago because they were cheaper than real books and my mom did want for them anymore.
I have seen both side of the spectrum because as I said at first I did not want a Kindle, because I like the feel of books in my hands. They were something concrete that you can have forever and you wouldn’t lose just because your storage got full or it just decided it didn’t want to work anymore.
Books have many benefits and I still buy them, especially now that I am reading the classics. Also they are re-creating the covers of many of the classics with pretty, artistic covers.
Though also e-books have their benefits also. Since I have a kindle I will just some of these might be different for other forms, but for the most part I think they are the same.
Kindles are portable. You can carry them about anywhere and I do. I have the Kindle Fire and it is hand held for me and so I can use it in the car, take it to class and the gym. This also comes in handy with Netflix also. I can watch many of my shows from many places even now that Netflix and Amazon Video give you the option of download so you can watch without Wi-Fi.
Reading in bed also used to be a problem for me. Lying my side with an open book was almost impossible to be comfortable with. With a kindle that isn’t a problem you can hold it in one hand while lying down.
Another important point is that the Kindle has a less chance of being ruined do to food or liquid. You can read while cooking, eating, drinking, using the bathroom and not have to worry about it getting sauce on it of water or it from washing your hands or something.
So both things have their benefits and I use both. For some series that I started on my Kindle I keep on their like The Mortal Instruments series, but other I have to have in a hard copy.

Either method is great so if you were on the fence about it please look into it, you’d be surprised how they great they can be.
