How To Get Start With Comics

As I continue to talk about comics and what is happening with the in the entertainment with them, I thought it would nice to help those of you who are just getting in to comics. In this post I will tell you my way of getting into comics. 

 1. First you want to pick a direct character. 

Whether is be the Flash or Iron Man you need to pick a place of jumping into these stories. Most of the stories are intertwined with other characters and groups like Justice League and Avengers. Even though this may not be the only character you want to follow, its good to find a starting place because these stories have a lot of twist and turns. These comics have also been going on for a very long time and have changed with the times. So your character might have different people that take the name and you need to be specific on what or who you want to follow. So for Flash you have to pick between Jay Garrick, Barry Allen and Wally West to pick which The Flash you want to follow. Some people want to follow the character as a whole too and that okay too because the different names that follow a character usual intertwine too.

2. Research your character. 
Going on with the example of The Flash, you want to find a good jumping in point or if you want to start from the beginning you need to know where to start. Many of these characters have gone through many ages in the life of comics. There is the Golden Age which is the beginning of comics, so Jay Garrick the first flash is the Golden Age Flash. Other comics like Batman who have the same character through out his comics still have ages just in a different way. Another reason to research is because even if your jumping in where they are now a lot of stuff has happened that is connected to it.The loops and turns that these stories have can be difficult, but finding a start spot can be easy. Literally look up Where to start in _____ Comic and there you go. There’s a lot of site that can help form video to Reddit post any can help. 

3. Find a reading outlet. 
Everything is going digital and so have comics. You can buy comic for your kindle and other devices now and have you comics everywhere. But if your like me, there certain forms of books you want to have pages and comics is one of them. Some people have comic store and that cool, but some books can be hard to find. No worries you can probably find it online all forms are available.

4. Read. 

This may sound stupid, but heres what I mean. When you read you still may be confused. There are many different universes and one can get lost. You have to Television version and the comic book version and the animated series version. It can all get very confusing on where everything is and how it is going down, but don't give up. There are many outlets to help you in your journey. Youtube being one of the major ones. From history to Top Tens you can find what you need. There are many blogs and wikis to help you.

 5. Be a nerd. 
Once you have delve in enough and you know which movies are coming out when. Which one are going to be good are not. And if there anything like the comics then you ready. You’re a giant nerd. But no fear, let that Geek Flag Fly and annoy all your friends about the real comic book version.

Recently I have been working with a with a public radio station and it has been eye opening to the entire platform.  A lot of people think that radio is just the local music channel you listen to. Wonder Woman and Feminism

With the recent release of the Wonder Woman movie, I only find it right to give a reason of why this is such a big deal.  Wonder Woman was created as a figure of the feminist move and has been fight for a spot on the big screen for years. She has been in comic since 1942 and this her only film on the big screen. As the figure of Feminism Wonder Woman has been through her ups and down in a world of men. Her outfit, origin, powers and equipment have all gone through changes because of this. Censorship and sexism is the only way to put it when talking about why this has happened.  Through the years some things have stayed the same for the most part. She is borne of the Amazon Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons. She was raised on Paradise Island and only left when her love interest Steve Trevor and learned of the unforgiving world that we live in.
