Summer Recap and What to Look Forward to. Spoilers!
As this post is on the first of September, I only think it's right that I start off with a recap. From Finding Dory to Star Trek, over all we had a pretty good summer selection. I worked for a theater for the last two summers and it was filled with awesome people and perks. One of which being getting to watch all the movies for free.
This summer I returned from college and the first thing I watched was the much anticipated Captain America: Civil War. This movie, as many Marvel movies recently, was a success. The movie was more of a Avengers Civil War movie than one about Captain America. With all the Avengers in attendance, new and old, the movie was filled with nonstop action.

Though I have not read the comics for this movie, I was
kindly informed of the fate of Captain America. Though this a prominent part of
the comics, I believe, this was sorely left out of the movie. Marvel seems to
be going off the books on this one like many other movies these days.
In entirety the movie was pretty awesome. The plot was
complete and it gave development of characters like Scarlet Witch, Vision and
Falcon. Also it gave an introduction to the much anticipated Spider-man, who was
more like a spider-boy, but he was cute. Also Black Panther was introduced and
so loved that he has his own movie on the way. The rest of the more popular
characters, Iron Man and Captain America, gave great performances. And as a
movie watcher not a critic, I always say if it entertained me, it did its job and
was a good movie.
The next movie I would like to speak of, among the many
children movies that came out this summer, my favorite was Secret Life of Pets.
In strong competition to the long anticipated Finding Dory, the movie held up
strong. Though PG, the movie was fit for all ages. The characters were not only adorable, but full of life and
emotion. The movie was hilarious, but also heartfelt and romantic.
My favorite character being Gidget. This feisty little Pomeranian
was quirky, cute and hardcore. She saw what she wanted and went after it. Not to
mention she totally kicked butt in end one of the last scenes. She also turned a
hawk, Tiberius, into her best friend after he almost ate her.
Though these are only two of the movies I watched this
summer there were many more that were worth the watch, some being: X-men:
Apocalypse, Now You See Me 2, The Conjuring 2, The BFG, Legend of Tarzan, Star
Trek: Beyond and so much more.
In theaters now: Ben-Hur, War Dogs, Kubo and the Two
Strings, Southside with You, Hands of Stone, Don’t Breathe and more.
I hope this blog was interesting if not helpful. Enjoy your
movie watching.
Suicide Squad post added also.
