SAGA

So tonight’s post is about a graphic novel series that is really big right now called SAGA. I started reading it about one or two years ago and I’m finally on track of release dates.                 Volume 6 was recently published and I just finished it a couple days ago and it did not disappoint.                 First off, SAGA is the story of two soldiers falling in love despite being from two different sides of a war. The war is between the planet Landfall, the people their having wings and Landfall’s moon called Wreath whose inhabitants have horns on their heads.                   Though the two soldiers are a vital part of this story and in the beginning things a centered around them, all other characters have their own story lines too. From The Will to Prince IV every character has their own story and there is now real main characters because they’re all important.                 The hype that is centered on this series has been compared to that of Star

Don't Breathe Spoiler Alert!

I went to go see Don't Breathe last night and I thought it was amazing. I don't usually like horror movies as these days they seem to contain the same jump-scare tactics. I am sad to say that usually when I go see these movies I either fall asleep or laugh throughout it. Don’t Breathe I thought was going to be the same thing, but when seeing the trailer for it I thought it would be cool to watch. I went believing that these teens were going to try and rob this poor blind man’s house and get thrown for a loop when the old man turns out to be an army veteran and kicks major butt. So I went believing that I was going root for the old man because those kids had no right to be in his house. The first thing that happened that started to push me over to the teens side is seeing Rocky’s (Jane Levy) home life and hearing of her abuse. When hearing and seeing these things you want to see her succeed in getting this money and removing her little sister from the environment. This wa

Suicide Squad: Opinion

The highlight of my summer was Suicide Squad. Now many critics believed this movie to be just another flop from DC right after Batman vs. Superman. I disagree. I feel the movie was compared entirely too much to Marvel movies. The two universes are clearly competing with DC being the underdog in media. Marvel having many years and successes under their belt gaining a far lead to DC. Though DC has made some incredible movies, mainly the Dark Knight trilogy following Batman. The two universes being the leading members of the superheroes scene are force to compete. DC’s approach to this is to make their movies parallel to their competitors which, to me is a mistake. DC in a whole, with characters and storylines, is inherently darker than Marvel. This is what I believe they should play off of. Their focus mainly being to compete with Marvel is making them lose their story behind competition flare. Their characters' stories being lost to their Marvel counterparts. It is rum

Summer Recap and What to Look Forward to. Spoilers!

As this post is on the first of September, I only think it's right that I start off with a recap. From Finding Dory to Star Trek, over all we had a pretty good summer selection. I worked for a theater for the last two summers and it was filled with awesome people and perks. One of which being getting to watch all the movies for free. This summer I returned from college and the first thing I watched was the much anticipated Captain America: Civil War. This movie, as many Marvel movies recently, was a success. The movie was more of a Avengers Civil War movie than one about Captain America. With all the Avengers in attendance, new and old, the movie was filled with nonstop action. Though I have not read the comics for this movie, I was kindly informed of the fate of Captain America. Though this a prominent part of the comics, I believe, this was sorely left out of the movie. Marvel seems to be going off the books on this one like many other movies these days. In entirety the
